Nazzarena Semeraro, a longtime Yonkers resident passed away peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2019. Nazzarena was born January 8, 1930 in Tagliacozzo, Italy the daughter of the late Pasquale and Filomena Cellini. She worked proudly for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She loved cooking, sewing, and was devoted to the Madonna dell Oriente. Beloved wife for 69 years to Leonard Semeraro, Sr. Devoted mother of Angela (Anthony) Verini, Leonard (Jacqulyn) Semeraro Jr. and the late Joseph (Mary) Semeraro. Cherished grandmother of Dawn and Christopher Verini, Tracie Martinez, Patrick Semeraro and Andrew and Nicole Semeraro. Nazzarena was also a great grandmother to several loving great grandchildren. She was a fond sister to the late Maria (Teseo) Poggiogalle, Vincenza DiMarco, and sister-in-law to the late Anthony DiMarco Sr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc, 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY on Wednesday from 4 to 8PM. Funeral Mass will be at St. Ann's Church in Yonkers on Thursday at 10AM. Entombment Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange County in her memory.
