Obituary of Raymond Martinez

It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Martinez, of Yonkers, announce his passing on January 24, 2019, at just 37 years old. He was born April 5, 1981 in Bronxville, NY and a life long resident of Yonkers. He is the son of Thomas and Catherine (Mazzei) Braia, and Guillermo "Willy" Martinez (deceased). Raymond was a skilled plumber and a member of the Local-21 Plumbers & Steamfitters Union, in addition to being an amateur mechanic and gunsmith, who had a great passion for cars and motorcycles. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and most importantly friend, who is most known to them as "Type-Ray". Raymond will be lovingly remembered forever by his mother and stepfather Thomas and Catherine Braia; his brothers Joseph and Russell; and his sister Jaime, brother-in-law Mike, and nephews Lorenzo and Giovanni. He also leaves behind his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Raymond was predeceased by his sister, Annemarie and his father, Willy. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. Friends and family may call the Sinatra Memorial Home at 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers NY 10704 on Tuesday, January 29, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM at the funeral home on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Raymond's name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
