It is with great sadness the family of Jose Caruncho announces his passing on Saturday, February 16,2019 at the age of 72.
Jose immigrated from Portugal to the United States in 1981 with his family. Before immigrating, Jose enlisted in the Portuguese army and had tour of duty in Guiné, Africa.
Jose was an active member of the Portuguese American Community Center who thoroughly enjoyed life including barbecuing, wine making, joking and maintaining a beautiful garden.
Jose is survived by his wife Odete of 47 years, children Paula and Sofia, son in laws Michael and Gregory and grandson Gregory III as well as his sisters, Emilia, Ana and Teresa including nieces and nephews.
Jose will be lovingly remembered. We love you very much.
Friends may call the Community Home for Funerals at 601 Yonkers Avenue Yonkers NY, 10704 on Tuesday, February 19th between the hours of 4-8 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:45 AM followed by the internment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
