Slavko Edward Krpic was born in Croatia on September 16, 1940. He had 3 sisters and 1 brother. He joined the army in Croatia. He was later discharged because he broke his leg playing soccer, a sport he loved. He then decided to pursue his career in baking and moved to Germany to continue his passion. In 1970, he moved to America where he met his wife, Katrina. They were married on November 19, 1977. They had a son, Evan and daughter, Elizabeth. He worked as a Baker at Nathan's in Yonkers for many years, and went on to work for Plaza Sweets, where he retired. He has been blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren and 1 expected September 2019. He adored and loved spending time with them. Slavko loved to watch sports! Soccer, Football, and Hockey were his #1 in sports. He enjoyed going to hockey games and fishing. He loved to listen to Croatian music and being with family. He was always proud of his country, Croatia. He will be forever remembered by his wife of 42 years, Katrina, son Evan, daughter-in-law, Diana, daughter Elizabeth, and son-in-law, Frankie. "Dida" will also be lovingly remembered by his 3 grandchildren. He was a loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his 3 sisters and predeceased by his brother. He will forever be in our hearts!
