It is with great sadness that the family of Gloria Corbo announces her passing on April 16, 2019 at thr age of 89. Gloria passed away peacefully at her home in Yonkers, N.Y. Gloria was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on October 22, 1929, to Madeline (Cancellara) Colasuonno and Saverio Colasuonno. Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Corbo, two brothers, Caesar Colasuonno and Anthony Colasuonno and also 2 sisters Mary and Rose. She is survived by their children, Christine Tortora and her husband, Anthony, of Chappaqua, N.Y., and Joseph Corbo, Jr. of Yonkers, N.Y. Gloria is also survived by her three grandchildren, Tatiana Curry and her husband, Justin, Anthony Tortora, Jr. and his wife, Cara, and Giovanna Tortora and 2 great-grandchildren, Mason and Jack Curry as well beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria loved playing sports as a young woman and was an avid fan of televised sports. She loved to travel and had travelled extensively throughout Europe and many places here in the U.S. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was loving and affectionate, with a great sense of humor. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers, N.Y. on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 11:00 am. Internment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.
