Obituary of Felipe I Rodriguez

In loving memory of Felipe Rodriguez 1931 - 2019 Felipe Rodriguez passed away on May 3rd, 2019 surrounded by his family. Felipe was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on October 5, 1931. He was also known as Ivan Rodriguez and was a talented singer of romantic boleros. His love of Latin music started at the age of nine when his family urged him to perform at family parties and then became known for his velvet voice in his town by performing at local Parrandas during the Christmas season. He left his hometown at the age of 17 to pursue a musical career in New York. While performing at a local club in New York, he met the love of his life, Esther and they would marry and have two children Ivan and Ann Debra. Felipe was a kind man, a loving husband and a devoted father. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for making everyone laugh and enjoy his company. He also enjoyed singing and entertaining and would later go on to perform onstage alongside his son Ivan who played drums. A memorial service will take place at Sinatra Memorial Home located at 499 Yonkers Ave in Yonkers on May 11th from 11 am to 3 pm.
