Obituary of Ralph Esposito

Ralph (Raffaele) Esposito, 72, of Caivano, Napoli, Italia decided to leave our presence on June 5, 2019. Ralph traveled by ship from the Port of Napoli to New York where he settled in Tuckahoe, NY. Shortly after his arrival, his heart found it’s match and soulmate Maria Rosa, who would stick by his side, in sickness and in health for almost 44 years. Together they had three children. Ralph is survived by his wife, Maria Rosa; his son Joseph (Audrey) Esposito, his daughter Giovanna (Victor) Claudio; his son Ralph Jr; his grandchildren Arianna, VJ, Joseph and Gisella.

Ralph was best with his hands, and worked as a tool die maker in Tuckahoe, along with 2 other jobs as he strove to provide for his family. In 1997, Ralph was struck by poor health and was physically disabled, but he always found time to put work into his passions of homemade wine and his garden full of vegetables. From the local barber shop to the deli on Arthur avenue, you could not go several minutes without someone mentioning how kind and warm Ralph was; his love to shower those he cared for with gifts of wine, capicola and figs from his fig tree were unmatched. These are the moments we wish for us all to remember of Ralph.

All those who knew Ralph, knew his health challenged him on a daily basis but regardless his stubbornness and ox-like build would not allow a measly diagnosis steal his joy.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to gather and celebrate his life. Visitation is scheduled on Thursday, June 5, 2019, from 04:00 PM to 08:00 PM, at Community Home for Funerals, located at 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY. Church services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, June 7, 2019, at St. Bartholomew's Church located at 15 Palmer Road; followed by the ceremony at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530.
