Paul Rusinko was born October 7, 1932 in Yonkers, New York to Andrew and Susan Rusinko. He left this world on July 9, 2019. He was 86 years old.
He married the love of his life, Justine (Butchko) Rusinko, on August 28, 1954. They were married for 64 years. Into this union was born six children.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Andrew and Susan Rusinko, one son Andrew G. Rusinko, sister Helen Rusinko, and sister Maryann Cascarano. He will be missed by surviving family: wife Justine Rusinko; son Paul and wife Emma Mae Rusinko of Newburg, MO; daughter Christine and husband Robert Brookins of Indianapolis, IN; daughter Susan Rusinko of Rockaway, NY; daughter Barbara of Mohegan Lake, NY; daughter Dianne and husband Tom Triano of Cortlandt Manor, NY; daughter-in-law Cathy Rusinko of Exton, PA; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and other extended family.
Paul graduated from Commerce High School in Yonkers, NY. Paul served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marines Corps, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked as a supervisor in the United States Postal Service for many years. He was active in several veterans' service organizations including Disabled American Veterans (DAV), American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He was also a member of the Diamond Thistle Lodge (Tarrytown, NY) of the Free and Accepted Masons.
Visitation will take place at the Community Home for Funerals, 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers NY 10704) on Friday, July 12, 2019, from 2PM To 8PM with Panahyda Service at 7:30PM. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 10AM in St. Mary's Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church, 485 N Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Yonkers, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paul may be sent to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), VFW Post 1666, 574 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY 10704; or to St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, 485 N Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701.
