ALBERT MARTIN PAUL MEDVEC, of White Plains NY, formerly of Yonkers NY, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at age 90. Albert was born June 12, 1929 to Joseph and Helen (Hayduk) Medvec in Yonkers, where he was raised and educated, graduating from Holy Trinity School and Saunders Trade High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Medical Corps as a S/SGT during World War II and Korea and was awarded the Medics Badge, Victory Medal WW II, National Defense Service, Army Good Conduct, Army of Occupation (Japan W Cluster), Korean Service (2 Campaign Stars) and United Nations Service Medals. Albert attended 7 collages and graduated from 4: Westchester Community, Hunter/Lehman, John Jay Criminal Justice and New School/Kensington. Member of PSI-CHI. He worked for AT & T Long Lines, engineering department, from 1953 until he retired in April 19, 1991. He was awarded a New York State Apprentice License in Pharmacy in 1949. Albert was an avid golfer, who played on: local county courses, in Hodogaya, Japan, Koenig, Tokyo, and in 7 other states. Albert is survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Joseph, and Stephen, and sisters, Helen, Josephine, and Agnes. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 8, 2019, from 2PM to 5PM at DUCHYNSKI-CHERKO (in Community Home for Funerals, 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers NY 10704).
