Obituary of Flavio Forchetti

Flavio Forchetti, 80, of Yonkers, N.Y. passed on August 24th, 2019 at Saint John's Hospital. He was born on February 27th, 1939 in Abruzzo, Italy. Flavio was one of four brothers, predeceased by Nino (Frances Forchetti) and survived by Romeo and Rudi. Flavio married Maria (DeSimone) in September 1963. They have four wonderful children, Julia Ricciuti (Joe), Imma Carletto (Luigi), Peter Forchetti (Jackie), and Maria Rosaria (Mikel). Flavio worked tirelessly as a bricklayer. He will always be remembered by his stone masonry and expert craftsmanship in construction. He built dozens of homes in Yonkers and the surround areas which stand in his memory. Flavio truly loved life, traveling to many cities and countries, making friends with everyone he met. He strived to have the best things in life. He instilled work ethic in his children and grandchildren, teaching everyone to be as independent as he was.
Flavio was an adored Nonno to his eleven grandchildren Daniella, Anthony, Peter, Andrew, Jake, Lily, Christian, Lucca, Alessia, and Vince. Flavio was loved and respected by his extended family of nieces and nephews. His legacy and tenacity lives on through all of them.
A Christian Burial Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 27th at 11AM, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Yonkers, with entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
