Obituary of Jane Puchir

PUCHIR, Jane Gatto of Yonkers passed away peacefully on October 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 94. Born in Mount Kisco in 1925, Jane graduated Roosevelt High School and then worked as a bank teller in Crestwood and later as a teacher's assistant for the Yonkers Public Schools. After World War II, Jane married her true love John Puchir in Yonkers. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and giving to others. Jane was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She treasured times spent with her family and friends, especially vacations to the Jersey Shore. Jane was the loving wife of John for more than 70 years, mother of Steven and Leanne Puchir of Valhalla and mother of Susan Puchir of Dobbs Ferry. Dear grandmother of Matthew, his wife Jessica and granddaughter Jennifer. Beloved older sister of Victor. Jane was loved and admired by many and will be greatly missed. She will always be remembered for her compassion, kindness and selfless love. Visitation will be at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 499 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers 2-4pm and 6-9pm on Friday October 4th followed by a service at Bryn Mawr Park Presbyterian Church 20 Buckingham Road, Yonkers at 10am on Saturday October 5th.
