Obituary of Juanita Rios

Juanita Rios was 81 years old when she passed away on Sunday, January 19th in Yonkers, NY. It is difficult to say goodbye. We will miss her with all of our hearts. While we know that she is at peace and that her struggles are at an end, there is still pain and sadness. Her legacy of love and perseverance will forever be remembered. Juanita is survived by her husband, 4 sons, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 daughter-in-laws, as well as other relatives and friends. This family, and her role as wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law were the most important things for her. She was selfless and always put others ahead of herself. She never wanted people to go out of their way for her, yet she did it all the time for others. She has touched the lives of so many people and even though she is gone, her memory will live on in all of our hearts forever. Everyone who was ever touched by her in his or her lifetime should have faith that she will be watching over us. She was a remarkable woman. We will cherish the memories we have of her and honor her memory. Her love and compassion are pulling us through this difficult time. We take comfort in knowing that right now, she is in heaven, standing with God and breathing freely on her own. We acknowledge and share both our joy in the gift that her life was to us, and the pain that her passing brings. In sharing the joy and the pain together, may we lessen the pain and remember more clearly the joy.
