Mr. Jose Augusto DaSilva, son of the late Antonio Augusto and Gloria (Paulo) da Silva was born March 25, 1935 in Mogadouro da Serra, Portugal.
He married Ana Maria (Fernandes) on May 13, 1969 in Luso, Moxico, Angola, Africia. They had two sons Joe and Rui. In 1976 they came to America and started a new life.
Mr. DaSilva worked and retired as a mechanic from Liberty Lines in Yonkers, New York. He was a diehard Benfica fan and loved the New York Yankees. He enjoyed working on his garden and feeding the birds. He loved his family and always had a smile on his face.
He quietly passed away on January 31, 2020 at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife Ana Maria Silva, his son Joe, daughter in law Maribel, granddaughter Kayla DaSilva; his son Rui, daughter in law Michele, granddaughter Lia DaSilva. He is also survived by his sister Maria Ceu, brother in law Agostinho dos Santos; his sister Gracinda, brother in law Americo Sequeira; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
