Eleonora (Ellie) Vitulli, a life-long resident of Yonkers, passed away on February 21, 2020, at the age of 88, surrounded by her four daughters after a long battle with lymphoma. Although she lost the battle, she never quit. She fought until the very end. Her will to live was insurmountable and a testament to her true fighting spirit. Ellie was born on March 6, 1931 to Giovanni and Regina Calise in New York City. Ellie worked many years in Food Services for the Yonkers Public Schools.
Ellie was the beloved wife of the late Marino (Merk) Vitulli and the loving mother of Angela (Tommy), Regina (Bobby), Michele (John) and Marina (Joe). Ellie was also a cherished grandmother to her 13 grandchildren and of 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear brother, Joe (Karen) Calise and sister, Rita (Fran) and many nieces and nephews. As the matriarch of her family, she will be deeply missed and remembered. Ellie was blessed with a life well lived and loved, spanning four generations. Her family was able to enjoy so many beautiful memories with her over the years.
Ellie loved the holidays and family get togethers, any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She loved her summer trips to South Carolina and LBI. Over the years, she spent countless hours cooking and baking for all the special occasions.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation at the Sinatra Memorial Home at 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers N.Y. 10704 on Sunday, February 23rd from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, February 24th at Annunciation Church, 475 Westchester Avenue, Yonkers, N.Y. The burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
