Danny V. Matera born June 26,1932 in YONKERS NY met the doors to heaven on March 30, 2020. Danny, born Donato Vito Matera was a first-generation Italian American. He is pre-deceased by his parents Giuseppe and Giuseppina Matera along with his brother Frank Matera. Danny served in the United States Army for the Korean War from 1952-1954. For those who knew Danny, he lived life by his rules and lived it to the fullest. From motorcycle racing, playing pool, his love for boating, skiing, time with his family at his shore house to traveling the world. He always did life his way. Danny had many careers in his 87 years of life. His love for cars at a young age led him to opening Danny's Auto Body, which he had for over 30 years. He went on to be the President of the Auto Body Association. He was a teacher at BOCES for the Auto Industry. He then went on to becoming a landlord, real estate broker and insurance broker. His latest venture was flipping houses. If you knew Danny, you knew the love he had for his 9 girls and most recent boy. Danny is survived by his Daughters Andrea Hammerling, (husband Fred Hammerling) Lisa Mager (husband Matt Mager), Doreen Edwards, grandchildren Vanessa Romond (husband Jeff Romond), Nicole Sudano (husband Chris Sudano, Danielle Hammerling and his great grandchildren, Ella Romond, Lily Romond, Holly Romond and Michael Sudano. Lovingly remembered by Anne Rubeo, Joseph Rubeo, Alexis Rubeo, Donna Palladino, Annmarie Palladino and John Palladino.
The family will hold a memorial service in the future.
