Christopher Tiny Milano, 85 went to be with our Lord on April 8.
Tiny is survived by his wife Mary of 61 years, his son Lou (Guy to him), daughter in law Holly, grandchildren Nicole, Chris, Jillian, and Maggie, several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to everyone. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, and 5 brothers. He is already missed and will be forever in all our hearts.
Tiny was a great man who would do anything for his family and friends. He loved his wife Mary and always said there was nothing too good for her. He spent many years after retirement travelling with her, enjoying life and good times together. He was the best dad a person could ask for, always encouraging his son to enjoy life. All his grandchildren adored him, and each will have special fond memories of him forever.
Tiny was a veteran of the Korean war and was very proud of his country and the flag. He spent the last 5 years doing all that he could for veterans and encouraged all to help support them. He was a retired corrections officer of Valhalla Correctional Facility and was proud to serve his community in that way.
Tiny loved racing stock cars and did it for 30 years. He was a track champion at Weissglass Stadium and raced at Orange County Fair Speedway. It was something that he shared and loved with his son Lou for over 20 years. They were quite a duo and poor Mary took the brunt of it all. If he was not racing stock cars, he was skydiving. Always a thrill seeker. Christmas was his favorite time of the year. He decorated the inside and outside of his house to be a true Christmas wonderland. Family and friends looked forward to it and travelled from far to see his creativity and spend time with him.
Tiny was very involved with his senior community centers. He was responsible for organizing many enjoyable day and multi-day trips for all members. He loved travelling and encouraged as many people in the center that could to sign up. He was always making deals to make it affordable for everyone to participate. He loved acting in the shows that the community centers put on. He was Christopher Columbus in the annual parade for the last 3 years. He was a member of the Anthony Maggiacomo Lodge and enjoyed cooking and eating Sunday breakfast there.
Due to Covid19, the family was unable to receive family or friends, but will hold a private burial at St Joseph's cemetery in Yonkers NY. There will be a celebration to commemorate his life at a time and date later to be decided by the family.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to St. Ann's Church, 854 Midland Ave. Yonkers, NY 10704
