Olga "Oogie" Attanasio went home to the Lord on April 9, 2020. Born in Yonkers, NY on June 14, 1927, she was a simple woman who dropped out of Commerce High School to work to support the troops during WWII. She was predeceased by her husband Emelio in 1975, her daughter Catherine, her parents Antonio and Caterina Blasetti, her siblings Carlo, Emma, Edmond, Clara and Elaine. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Liza) Attanasio and Anthony (Alicia) Attanasio, her grandchildren, Alana Attanasio, Anthony R. Attanasio, Evan Segarra, Alyssa Attanasio and Daniela (Daziel) Garcia and her great-grandson Anthony M. Attanasio. Olga was a lifelong resident of the Park Hill neighborhood in Yonkers as well was a congregant of Mt. Carmel Church on Park Hill Avenue. She was also a member of the St. Ann's Sodality. She spent many years in food services at Yonkers High School where she served joyful cheer with lunch to the faculty. By her simple and humble manner, Olga was the epitome of love in action. In her mind, the other person always came first. She always saw the good in people. Always had a kind word to say about others. Was always very generous to her family. She loved her grandchildren greatly and they all loved her in return. She leaves behind a legacy of being a model of what Love and Humility look like. A private burial will take place with the hope of having a memorial celebration of life in the future.
