Obituary of Cecilia Werney

Cecilia Werney was born March 11, 1925 and was the eleventh of twelve sons and daughters of Frances and Thomas Troy from the Park Hill section of Yonkers, NY. Ceil was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, William "Bill" Werney. She peacefully joined her husband, parents and siblings on April 21st. Ceil and Bill had two children, Katherine and Andrew. She is survived by Katherine and Joseph Greco, Andrew and Michele Werney, her grandchildren, Jennifer (Greco) and Thomas Ruffino, Joseph Greco, Peter and Jodi Greco, Erica, Thomas, Andrew "Drew" and Daniel Werney. She was also blessed with three great grandchildren, Grace, Emma and Troy. Cecilia was a strong, caring women who put others needs before her own, always taking care of family and friends in their time of need. Well known for her fantastic baking skills, her puff cookies were a main attraction at every family gathering and, as the head baker for the Yonkers Public School System for 30 years, many students, faculty, staff as well as the Superintendent got to enjoy Ceil's pies, cookies and cakes. Cecilia loved life, her family and friends; she enjoyed travel and always found comfort in her faith. Cecilia lived a long, full life and will be missed by all who knew her.
