Obituary of Elijah Ashby
Please share a memory of Elijah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elijah Ashby Jr.
Born in Pawling, NY on January 8th 1940 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and caregivers on April 13, 2020. He was the youngest son of Edith and Elijah Ashby Sr.
Elijah was a man full of life, a devoted husband, father and friend. His love and dedication for his wife Ida was an inspiration to all those who witnessed it.
Using his natural perseverance and fortitude, he built a successful appliance sales and repair business which served the Westchester area for over 35 years. Though he was a successful business man who served his community, what Elijah will most be missed for is as a husband, father, and dear loyal friend.
Elijah gave freely of his love and friendship and truly enjoyed spending time and opening his home to all of his family and friends. His home became a hub for gatherings, cozy holidays and summer barbeques.
He was always available with a helping hand, or just to provide a comforting ear to those who needed a shoulder to lean on. He always had a smile on his face and, his laughter was infectious.
Elijah's kindness, humor, and dedication to his family and friends was true, steadfast, and remarkable. His companionship and loyalty will be missed; we were all made better because of him.
His family will always be grateful to the caregivers, nurses, doctors and Hospice of Westchester; that made it possible for him to stay in the home he so much loved.
In his memory, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association or the Hospice of Westchester 1025 Westchester Ave, Suite 200 White Plains NY 10604. The level of care Elijah received from the Hospice team was impeccable; especially during the challenging times we are currently experiencing.
Elijah will always live in our hearts for all that knew him.
