Obituary of Edward A. Masterson

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Sunday, April 26th, Edward Masterson, known by friends and family as Mr. Ed, tragically passed away after a hard-fought battle with COVID-19 at the age of 56. Ed was born January 8th, 1964 and raised in Yonkers, where he met and married his beautiful wife of 36 years, Carol (Nistico). Together, they raised 3 sons, Nicholas, Christopher, & Michael. Ed, along with Carol, owned and operated Mr. & Mrs. Ed's Painting for over 20 years, serving residents of the suburbs of New York and Connecticut, forging several long-lasting friendships along the way. When Ed wasn't painting, he was always keeping busy with his family. Depending on the season, you could be sure to find him outdoors partaking in a different activity. Whether he was gardening with his wife and grandson in the Spring, taking family trips to Ocean City, Maryland and flying his kite on the beach in the Summer, taking trips to the mountains to watch the leaves change color in the Fall, or riding horses with his wife through the snow in the Winter, Ed loved being outside. A part of Ed will carry on through his children. His eldest son, Nicholas, loves to be outdoors playing sports, just like his father. His second son, Christopher, can usually be seen tapping his foot or pretending to drum, just like Ed did in junior high school. And ?nally, his youngest son, Michael, developed a love for cars after hearing his father go on about his own love for classic vehicles. His family was undoubtedly the greatest and most important accomplishment of his entire life, and knowing that it will continue to persevere in his honor after his passing would make him even more proud of them. Ed's legacy won't be contained to just his family. He touched the lives of countless people. Whether it was one of his sons' friends who had a seat at their dinner table and received un?ltered & honest advice; one of the many customers who never just remained customers, but became life-long friends; or even a local gas station attendant that Ed brought food to regularly after forming a friendship with, he always looked out for everyone he could. Ed is predeceased by his mother & father, Louise & Gerald; and his mother & father-in-law, Elisa & Giuseppe Nistico, who saw him as not just a son-in-law, but as their own son. Ed is survived by his wife, and soulmate, Carol; 3 children that he was incomparably proud of, Nicholas, Christopher, & Michael; two daughters-in-law that he loved like his own, Elizabeth & Taylor; 2 grandchildren that were the light of his life, Jace & Lennox; 4 siblings that he cared for unquestionably, Joseph, Michael, Anita, & Christopher; many other family members who he loved dearly; and an overwhelming number of lives that he touched.
