Salvatore M. Cali, of Yonkers, NY, passed away at Hudson Valley Hospital. He was 83 years old.
The son of Sicilian immigrants, Sal was born on August 26, 1936 in New York City and resided most of his life in Yonkers.
At a very young age, Sal became an accomplished vocalist and entertainer. His vocal group, The Four Sharps, performed throughout Westchester County and New York City. With hit records on the radio and a personal offer by Al Alberts to tour with The Four Aces, his group disbanded just before appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show.
In later years, Sal became an extremely talented self-taught composer and pianist. With many of his songs already copyrighted and dozens more to come, Sal's music will carry on through his daughter Maria-Rose and son-in-law Steve Salerno.
Sal proudly served in the United States Army. Upon his return to New York, Sal become the owner of a vacuum and sewing machine repair shop in Spring Valley. Sal was a genius when it came to repairs because he could literally repair anything!
Sal was the eternally beloved husband of the late Audrey J. (Bucciferro) Cali for 47 years. The youngest of eleven children of the late John (Giovanni) Cali and Lucia (Sciacchitano) Cali. Sal was the cherished father of his adoring daughter Maria-Rose (Cali) Salerno and her husband Steve.
