Elvina Anne Cundari, 88, a long-time resident of Bedford Hills, NY died June 26, 2020 at the Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Somers, NY. She was born in Chappaqua, New York on August 7, 1931, the daughter of the late Albert and Estelle Selleck. Anne entered the world at the start of the Great Depression. She frequently reminisced about her early years, always punctuating the story with, "We didn't have much money, but we had a lot of love." She attended Horace Greeley High School where she was a popular student who excelled at sports. She enjoyed recounting how she always turned down nominations to be the captain until it was basketball season when she would gladly accept. Anne met her husband James at the iconic Goody Shop in Mount Kisco, New York. After marrying, they resided in Mount Kisco with their young family before moving to Bedford Hills where she resided until the last years of her life when she required full-time residential nursing care due to failing health. Although her primary job was raising her children, Anne worked at the telephone company in Mount Kisco and as a receptionist for Dr. Eugene Tedaldi, DDS in Bedford Village for many years until her retirement in 1994. Anne was an active member of the Bedford Hills community, participating in the Woman's Club and Seniors. She enjoyed volunteering and could always be found working the polls on Election Day. Anne is remembered as a sweet soul and as a lady. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who placed family above all else. She was a loyal friend who maintained close ties as long as she was able. Anne will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Anne will be sadly missed by her three cherished children; Virginia Ascenzi of Bedford Hills, NY, Patricia Gee (Linwood) of Southbury, CT, and James Cundari Jr. (Dorian) of Brookfield, CT in addition to her nephew, Michael Buzzutto, whom she raised as her own son from the age of four and son-in-law William Kelly. She is survived by her seven (7) grandchildren: Holly Gorman, Amy Ascenzi, Shannon Keller (Jaro), Katie Brittingham (Scott), Luke Meyer (Lizz), Jillian Cundari, Jessica Cundari, and Michael Buzzuto Jr. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Dylan Gorman, J.J. Keller, Ellie Brittingham, Chloe Brittingham, Hannah Meyer, and Logan Meyer, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband, James Cundari, her adored daughter Bonita Kelly, and her siblings and their spouses; Albert Selleck Jr. (Patricia), Helen Strang (John), Edith Schmidel, and Shirley Buzzutto (George).
