It is with great sadness that the family of Etelka Batta announces her passing of their great Matriarch. Etelka was 84 years old when she went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday July 1st, 2020. Etelka will be terribly missed by her surviving three children Barbara Szolcsanyi, Michael Batta & Wife Diane and Elizabeth Glasser & Husband Kenneth, along with Grandchildren Susie Havas, Christina Madkour, Kenny Glasser, Eva Mihalek, Laura Batta, Michael Batta and all their spouses. She was blessed to have 11 Great-Grandchildren among them Crystal, Gabriel, Nicholas, Mia & Danielle to name a few, 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren and many people that we all hold in our hearts as family and dear friends, our hearts will not be the same. She was predeceased by her father and mother Istvan and Eszter Szabo whom she was born July 19th, 1935 in Mandok, Hungary. She had come to the United States in 1956 with her Husband and daughter to raise her family out of Communism. Etelka will be remembered mostly by how much she loved and had pride in her family. She was a fun loving person with a loving sense of humor, she loved to cook and feed everyone, like an army that came through her door. She loved spending her time on her terrace and surrounding herself with her flowers. She had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when someone was in need of help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. The family will receive friends from 3pm-6pm July 5th, 2020 @ Sinatra Funeral Home 499 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY 10704. There will be a funeral mass service on July 6th, 2020 at 10:15am @ Sacred Heart Church 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703. Burial in Gates of Heaven Hawthorne, NY. The family is accepting flowers in her memory.
