Maria Bonanni, age 81, of Elmsford passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2020. Maria was born in Palena, Italy on May 28, 1939 to the late Paolo and Maria Parente. In 1960, after marrying her loving husband Nicola (Nino), they immigrated to Yonkers, NY to begin a family. Maria worked as an expert seamstress for Fontana Bridal Shop until her retirement. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage before losing her beloved Nino. Their family was their world, Maria's greatest joy was cooking for her family, especially her delicious homemade gnocchi. Maria is survived by her loving sons, Dominic and Paul, adoring daughter-in-law Stefania and cherished Nanny to Deanna, Nicholas and Nicole. Friends may call on Wednesday from 3PM to 7PM at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc., 499 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Elmsford. Entombment will be at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Maria to White Plains Hospital. The family thanks everyone for their support.
