Obituary of Tamam Aboudi

Tamam S. Aboudi, sister, aunt, godmother and faithful parishioner of Saint Mary's Church in Yonkers died on August 12, 2020 at age 85 after a brief illness at Saint John's Hospital. Tamam, of Yonkers, was surrounded by family, whose lives were made whole by her love and care. Tamam was born July 1, 1935 in Ermameen, Jordan to Suleiman Salem Jwaid Innabi and Jamilah Abdallah Hasso. She attended religious education in Artas, Bethlehem. She returned to Amman, Jordan and worked for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees as a nurse. She met her husband, the late David S. Aboudi, through mutual friends and married in 1967. She came to United States in 1968 but traveled between New York, Palestine and Jordan often. She loved her husband so deeply she hardly left his side. She loved her family and enjoyed spending nights with her siblings, nieces and nephews. She was an amazing baker and spent time with her nieces baking holiday pastries and cakes. She was a generous woman who cared deeply about her faith, culture and family. Her home was always a welcoming place filled with family dinners and summer BBQs. She attended mass every Sunday at St. Mary's Church in Yonkers. Tamam is predeceased by her brothers Mechael Jwaid Innabi and Khalil Jwaid Innabi as well as her sisters Futhia Tomassian, Jalileh S. Innabi and Julia Ennabi. She is survived by her sisters Theresa Nasser (California), Muntaha Anabi (California), and Eideh Hassan (Yonkers); and many nieces and nephews who love and adore her. Visiting hours will be held at Sinatra Memorial Home at 499 Yonkers Avenue from 9:30am - 10:30am Friday, August 14, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 14th at 11 am, at Immaculate Conception Church at St. Mary's in Yonkers, New York. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Yonkers, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name should be sent to The Good Shepherd Arab Catholic Church 103 South Broadway, Yonkers, New York 10701.
