Rosemary Ann Napolitano Chita died peacefully at her home surrounded by her daughters on August 20, 2020 in Palm Coast, FL at the age of 70.
Rosemary was born on January 19, 1950 in New York, NY to Ralph & Mary Napolitano and was a 1967 graduate of Scared Heart High School in Yonkers, NY. She married Jose Manuel Chita on June 24,1973. The couple welcomed four children, of which she chose to stay home to raise. Rosemary returned to school and graduated from Mercy College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in foreign language. In 1992, Rosemary graduated with a Masters of Science in Secondary Education from Western Connecticut State University. She became a substitute teacher in 1987 and in 1996 became a full-time Spanish teacher with the Arlington Central School District where she continued to work until her retirement in 2012.
Rosemary is survived by her four daughters Christina Rau & husband Dennis of Ballston Lake, NY; Stephanie Hutchings & husband Patrick of San Antonio, TX; Deborah Chita & fiancée Jason Laxgang of Pleasant Valley, NY and Elizabeth DiPietrantonio & husband Brandon of Austin, TX; her grandchildren Isabela Rau & Mickey Hutchings; and her sister Gloria Brown & husband Robert of Parsippany, NJ. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Rosemary was an avid reader, traveler, and Yankees fan. She found great pride in the work she did with her students. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren and the many trips she took with them creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm on August 31, 2020 at Sinatra Memorial Home, 499 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY 10704. The funeral will be 11 am on September 1, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Church, 670 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.
