Doshia Williams and James Carter Jordan gave birth to Gloria Delores Williams on March 13, 1934 in their Mount Vernon, NY place of residence. Gloria met the love of her life Charlie Lipscomb in Yonkers, NY. after he moved from Bluefield,West Virginia. Together they raised 6 boys: Derrick (deceased 2017), Ricky Kurk , Walter , Charlie Jr., David Kenneth and Fred Arthur. Gloria has 17 grandchildren, and a phethora of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Gloria attended the Yonkers Public School system and completed her course work at Commerce High School before starting her professional career. After high school, Gloria worked at Kings of Tuckahoe, Polychrome, Youth Service Agency and Effective Security. Following her role as supervisor from Effective Security, Gloria became a school guard monitor and was promoted to school crossing guard where she retired in 2007. Gloria was a long time member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and served in the choir as secretary of the choir for many years. In her spare time, Gloria enjoyed traveling to California, Las Vegas, bowling, bingo, and spending time with her family.
