Americo Ribeiro(Rick) was born January 26,1924 in New Bedford MA to Luz & Serafim where they remained until 1929 when they returned to their homeland of Portugal where Rick was raised. Upon turning 18 he returned to the U.S. & joined the Navy receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. In 1950 Rick returned to Portugal & met Emilia Lopes Almeida a beautiful young lady. They had a short courtship & married (a marriage that would last an amazing 66 years til her passing in 2016). Shortly after, they came to the U.S. & started their new life together in Yonkers, NY, & later to Pomona NY. Upon retiring they moved to a retirement community in NJ to enjoy a carefree life & travel. In the latter years they moved once again to Cortlandt Manor NY to be closer to family. He is survived by 3 loving children Fernanda (Fern) & her husband Manuel (Manny) Americo Jr & his wife Sandra, Diana & her husband Adelino ( Lino) & 8 grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Mark, Andrew, Justin, Alyssa, Nicolette & Vincent & 7 great grandchildren: Jocelyn, Lauren, Caitlin, Matthew Jr, Oliver, Rosie & Elsie. Also his sister Laurinda & many nieces & nephews A full & rich life!! Cherished & loved he will be dearly missed. ??
