Jacqueline Marie Rubin, 91, passed away on the evening of December 5, 2020 in Mt. Kisco, NY. Jacqueline, affectionately known as Jackie, was born in Ridgewood, Queens, NY to Matilda and John Nehls. Jackie was the dear sister to Elinor Whalen of Poughkeepsie, NY. Jackie was the devoted wife to George Nelson Rubin, Sr., beloved husband of 68 years who predeceased her on February 17, 2020. She is survived by her five children; George N. Rubin, Jr. and his wife Shelly of Mt. Kisco, John Rubin of Holly Hill, FL, James Rubin and his wife Jutta of Mt. She grew up in Queens, NY before moving to Mt. Kisco in August of 1945 where Jackie graduated from Mt. Kisco High School in June 1947. After graduating she started a job as a secretary for American Potash Chemical in Manhattan in NYC. Jackie met the love of her life, George Rubin, Sr., at a Firemen's parade in Yorktown on June 29, 1950. They were married at the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mt. Kisco on November 24, 1951 and made their home on Boltis Street in1955 where they proudly raised their five children. She dedicated her early motherhood raising her five young children at home before starting her tenure working at the Boys Club in Mt. After working there for 10 years Jackie then enjoyed another long tenure as a secretary at St. Mary's Rectory in Katonah, NY where she worked until her retirement at the age of 85. Jackie was instrumental in starting a high school sorority in 1946 with a group of 20 close friends that still exists today. Through the years the group went on many trips together enjoying each other's company and sharing many laughs. Her family is forever thankful for the immeasurable love and support of Jackie's many lifelong friends, neighbors and caretakers throughout her life's long journey and especially at the end, when she needed it the most. As the matriarch of the Rubin family, Jackie will be deeply missed and remembered for her incalculable dedication and profound love for her friends, community and especially her extended family, constantly and proudly talking about her Grandchildren and great-Grandchildren.
