Obituary of Edith T. Rizzo
Edith Teresa Varco was born to parents Vincenzo and Anna (Melavenda) Varco in the family home on Lexington Ave. in the Village of Mt. Kisco. In June of 1957 she married Carmelo Rizzo and was employed by the Reader's Digest.
Edith and Carmelo raised two children, Tino and Maria. Edith, affectionately nicknamed T (short for Titina) is survived by her loving husband "Carme" devoted Son Tino, many cousins, nieces and nephews throughout New York and Toronto Canada.
T enjoyed family, friends and playing bingo. She loved visiting with neighbors and relatives especially if cookies, cake or ice cream were included. Many delicious meals were prepared with a bounty of vegetables and fruits grown in every corner of their property on Ward Ave.
Edith's bright eyes and wide smile made everyone feel welcome and she always made children feel like they had another Grandma. Many special friends and compassionate caregivers will forever remember her as a warm and loving lady who welcomed all into her home and heart.
Edith was pre-deceased by her parents, 3 brothers, Luigi, Peter and Charles and sadly, her daughter Maria in 2013. Edith was a true Angel on earth. On December 15th 2020 she joined the Angels in Heaven. All who were honored to know her will love and miss her always.
