Obituary of Rosemary A. Picani

Please share a memory of Rosemary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosemary Ann Picani, who adopted the nickname Ro, was born on February 10, 1930 in Yonkers, New York. She left this earth from a peaceful death on December 21, 2020 at age ninety in Poughkeepsie, New York. She continuously made her parents John and Angelina Smith proud as she was a successful, hardworking woman and spent many years working as a pension administrator for Teamsters Local 445. She grew up with her siblings Bobby, Jackie and Florence whom she loved dearly. At age 23, she married her sweetheart, Louis Picani (Lu Lu) in Yonkers, New York. The couple had two children, Jaquiline and Louis who overwhelmingly loved their mother. It was easy to love Ro's bubbly, outgoing and loving personality and that became evident as over her lifetime she accumulated a vast amount of true friends. From New York to Florida, she made many memories as she always kept herself busy with the people closest to her. She certainly will be remembered by her array of sunglasses, great love for chocolate and for always dancing and singing her heart out no matter where she was or who was watching. Ro was not only a phenomenal cook but she also demonstrated her extensive artist skills as she loved to sew, knit, crochet and create paintings that were revered by her family. She is survived by her bevolved, growing family including her sister Florence, her daughter Jaquiline, her son Louis and his wife Lorraine, her grandchildren Richie, Louis, Anthony and Angela and her great grandchildren Julian, Cadence, Natalee and soon to be Angelo. She is predeceased by her father John and mother Angelina, her husband Louis (Lu Lu), and her two brothers Bobby and Jackie. Services will be held Monday December 28, 2020 from 2 to 6 at the Sinatra Memorial Home at 499 Yonkers Avenue, 10704. Prayer services will be held at 10:30 AM at the funeral parlor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Sadie's Place Ny at 143 Boardman Rd, Bldg. 3 Poughkeepsie, Ny 12603. This was where Ro spent countless enjoyable days for about two years, making friends with other seniors and having fun with caring, loving staff. "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us." Yippee doo Ro, yippee doo.
