Obituary of Leda Barbarita

Leda Barbarita of New City, New York passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday January 6, 2021. She is survived by her daughter Karen, her son Roy, her daughter in law Liz, and her grandchildren Ashley, Nicholas and Marlo, who were the light of her life. Leda was a lifelong resident of Yonkers, New York, where she worked as a hairdresser and raised her children with her husband Roy, who predeceased her in 2008. Leda, known by her close family and friends as Lee, and Nana , as so many people called her, was a ray of sunshine who blessed everyone she met with her infectious personality, incredible cooking and loving nature. She will be remembered dearly by many as she rests in peace in heaven for eternity. She is the last surviving daughter of Torquato and Adelina D'Alessandro. Leda is predeceased by her husband Roy, her son in law John Wixon, brothers and sisters; Armando, Teresa, Teseo, Armida, Arnoldo, Marie, Alchesta and Frank. As well as many brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and friends who are much more like family. Our hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same without her. Our only comfort is that we find peace in knowing she was welcomed into Heaven by her loving husband and brothers and sisters who she longed to be reunited with for so many years.
