Obituary of Maryann Lepart

Please share a memory of Maryann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Maryann Lepart, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, age 74 was granted her angel wings on January 7, 2021 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. She was born February 12, 1946 in NYC. Maryann was adopted as an infant by her loving parents John and Casmira Lepart. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory High School. She worked as an activities' assistant at Hudson View Nursing Home for many years alongside her mom. Maryann enjoyed crafting and was proficient on the guitar. She enjoyed listening to and sharing music with her family and friends. She loved to travel on cruises to many places including Alaska, Canada, and multiple trips to Bermuda often occumpanied by her dear friend Jackie O'Gormon. Maryann loved reading. Over her lifetime its' safe to say she read thousands of books. She was a huge NY Yankee fan. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. Chatting with friends, longtime neighbors and family, and spending time with the sisters and priests of different spiritual organizations she was involved with over the years, especially the former Passionist Retreat House and Sacred Heart Church. Both allowed her to establish long and lasting friendships throughout the years. Maryann volunteered her time at Sacred Heart Church as a Eucharistic Minister as well as helped adorn the altar for masses and holidays. In her latter years with her own personal health struggles, she found comfort in support groups. Her involvement with the cancer survivor group at St. John's Hospital, Relay for Life, and the Phelps Hospital support group led her to find lifelong friends and comfort when she was in need. Being a part of the cancer group led her to annual Vermont trips that she so looked forward to every year and where again established wonderful friendships. Maryann's physical limitations kept her from doing things she loved as the year's went on but her true spirit was recognized by her will to live and always be there for people. She was a good friend and listened without judgement. She was a true kid at heart. Any reason to celebrate, especially birthdays and holidays made her the happiest because she was able to share the occasion with whom she loved most. She is survived by her "family down the street" Gina & Danielle Farrell, Jennifer & Brett Pisano, Janice & Paul Wittman, Amanda Wittman & Brian Willis. And her favorite little ones Christian, Michael, and Baby George whom she adored. She is also survived by her loving cousins John Slaker and Susan Reda. Maryann was a wonderful woman with a pure heart. She will be missed terribly. As Maryann would always say, "I'm doing the best I can." and "Bye for now!" Family, Friends, and others whose lives Maryann touched are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 19th at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church 110 Shonnard Pl. Yonkers, NY 10703. Interment to follow at St. Josephs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to the American Cancer Society and The Lupus Foundation of America.
