Please share a memory of Jose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jose Borrani passed away peacefully On January 4, 2021 in his Yonkers home surrounded by his loving family and by his side was his wife of 67 years, Mercedes Borrani Henriquez.
Jose Borrani was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. His parents were Rosa Arroyave From Guayaquil, Ecuador and Giuseppe Borrani from Genoa, Italy who migrated to Ecuador during WW2 . Jose Borrani was the youngest of four sons, nicknamed affectionately "Chicho" by his beloved Father.
At the young age of twenty, he migrated with his wife Mercedes Borrani and his two sons; Gino and Mario Borrani to Yonkers, New York. Then after starting their lives over in the United States of America for 10 years and living in their beloved Yonkers, NY Jose and Mercedes Borrani were blessed with two daughters; Mercy Borrani Noriega and Grace Borrani Gambardella.
While in Yonkers the hardworking entrepreneurial Husband and Wife team became the proud owners of multiple Yonkers properties and began running rooming houses. They continued to work until they saved enough money to buy their first multi-family home and then went on to purchase their family dream home in Yonkers - where he lived until his last days. The pride of home ownership was a great accomplishment for both Mercedes and Jose Borrani. His achievement of owning his own home and living the American dream was one of his proudest being that he was an immigrant and his parents were immigrants also. Jose had a strong work ethic which he shared and instilled in his children. Both Mercedes and Jose share the utmost respect for family and strong family values.
Although he had various investments, his calling was working in the General Motors plant in Tarrytown, NY for 35 years. After retiring, he spent time traveling with his wife and did what he loved most, spending time with his beloved family and most especially his grandchildren. His happiest moments were in his home with his family.
Rest In Peace Daddy. We will Love you Forever
