Obituary of Harriet J Nelson

Please share a memory of Harriet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Harriet Nelson unexpectedly left this earth on February 17, 2021 at St John's hospital at the age of 70. She was reunited with her mother who recently departed, as well as her beloved dog, her husband and other friends and family who have also passed. She was born November 3, 1950 in the Bronx, NY, the daughter of Elizabeth Jenkins and Curtis Newton. Harriet proudly graduated from Yonkers High School class of 1968. Following her graduation, she worked for Verizon telephone company for 25 years where she made many friends and long lasting relationships. She was a very boisterous woman who loved to laugh and joke around. She was happily married on August 28, 1971 to Robert Nelson. They had four children - Jean, Elizabeth, Roberta and the youngest Nakisha. She was also the grand mother of 7, who knew her lovingly as Nannie. She loved to play the slot machines at the casino. That's something that bought her so much joy. She also enjoyed getting together with family to eat and play card games. At home for relaxation she enjoyed playing bingo and other games on her tablet. She would also video chat her youngest grandchild on a daily basis. She will be missed by many who loved and knew her well.
