Mary Lou Staropoli Milford, Massachusetts Mary Lou Staropoli, age 90, formerly of Bedford Village, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 7, 2021. Born on October 29, 1930, in Peekskill, NY, to the late John and Kathryn Devins. Kathryn Wallick Devins died on Nov 17, 1930. Mary Lou was raised by John and Doris Burke Devins. Mary Lou married the love of her life, Joseph J Staropoli, on July 10, 1954. He predeceased her in 1994. Mary Lou was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmama, and loved having her family close. Mary Lou enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings, spending time at the beach, and on the golf course with family and friends. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren on the stage and on the fields where she was a cheerleader for all. Mary Lou was a dedicated elementary school teacher, in both the Thornwood, and Bedford Central School districts in NY. She had the 'superpower' to reach all of her students in a caring and compassionate way. Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents (John, Kathryn, and Doris), husband (Joseph), and beloved twin sister Kathryn Devins Weis. Mary Lou is survived by her adoring children Kathryn, Lynn (Doug), Beth (Deborah), Joseph (Linda). She was a beloved and cherished grandmother to Aaron (Ami), Thomas (Jen), Sarah, Scott, Matthew (Allison), Jenn, Joseph, Kristen, and John and her 4 great-grandchildren: Emma, Madelyn, Sophia, and Alex who all adored her. A celebration of her life will be held at the Oelker-Cox and Sinatra Funeral Home, East Main Street, Mt Kisco, NY on Friday, March 26, 2021, from 4-7 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. St. Francis of Assisi, 2 Green Street, Mt. Kisco NY. A private Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mary Lou Staropoli Fund for Mount Kisco Elementary School. Donations for the Fund can be sent to the BCSD Business Office C/ O Dina Mikulewicz at 632 S. Bedford Road, Bedford, NY 10506. Checks should be written to BCSD with a note in the memo: Mary Lou Staropoli Fund
