Obituary of Domenica "Minnie" Franzese
Please share a memory of Domenica "Minnie" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dominica (Minnie) Franzese was born to Francesco Franzese and Maria Restieri Franzese on June 8, 1914. She was the last surviving member of 5 generations of the Franzese family. She passed peacefully at home on April 6, 2021 from natural causes.
She was lifelong resident of Mount Kisco, NY and parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Church. She graduated from the St. Francis School in 1930 and shortly thereafter completed a one year program at secretarial school.
Minnie held various jobs in the area including the Readers Digest, Gerstner Printers and Hardware Designs Inc.
Minnie was an avid and loyal Mets fan from day one and continued to watch the games right through spring training of 2021! She also enjoyed watching the Giants when it wasn't baseball season. In her youth she loved dancing and was a participant in several local competitions and even winning one!
Her endless recounting of family history and the going ons "was always entertaining. In her final months we learned a lot of secrets about the neighbors and relatives who lived on Suttons Lane.
Minnie was pre-deceased by 10 brothers and sisters including Kathryn Molloy of Mount Kisco, NY and Mary MacDuffie of Port Orange, FL. Who together were affectionately known as the "3 Musketeers". Minnie is survived by 4 generations of cousins, nieces and nephews. Closest to her heart were her caregivers Jeffrey and Linda Molloy of Mount Kisco, NY, Terry and Robin Molloy of Brewster, NY and her great-nieces and nephews Dana and Daniel Molloy of Brewster, NY, Julie Molloy of Buffalo, NY and Phillip MacDuffie of Port Orange, FL.
Our special thanks for the family members who came to visit her over the years including Larry Jr. (Googie), Gene, Marion "Peanut", Bobby, Phyllis Ann, Nancy and Mary and some I'm sure I have forgotten to mention but you know who you are. She will be loved always and missed eternally! Rest in Peace.
