Obituary of MaryBeth C. Esselborn

Please share a memory of MaryBeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

MaryBeth died unexpectedly on June 1, 2021 at her home in Bethel, CT surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Fred, her daughters Kathryn, Sarah, Haley and her son-in-law Cornell. She was the youngest of three children and is also survived by her brothers Peter (Jackie), Dennis (Peggy) and their families.

MaryBeth Esselborn (Cregier) was born in Mt. Kisco, NY on April 5, 1954 to Elliott and Elizabeth Cregier. She spent the majority of her life in Bedford Hills, NY and Katonah, NY with her family and later raising three daughters with her husband, Fred. Growing up, MaryBeth was a Girl Scout and spent many fun summers in Vermont with her cousins.

She was a Registered Nurse for nearly 40 years. She worked at Burke Rehabilitation Center (in White Plains, NY) for 5 years before starting a family. Beyond her career, she deeply cared for those around her and in her later life she found herself caring for older women as a Nurse/Companion.

MaryBeth met Fred through Fred's sister Janet while working at Burke Rehabilitation Center. As Fred recently put it, "we were in love, and in the right place in our lives, that getting married was a no brainer." MaryBeth and Fred have three daughters and raised them in Katonah, NY. They were married for 33 years.

MaryBeth loved to be in the garden, baking with her daughters, feeding and watching birds, drinking coffee on the porch with Fred, and taking Tucker on walks. She loved to read, especially Amish books and studying the Bible. She enjoyed spending summer vacations at the beach with her family, and making s'mores wherever she was.

MaryBeth, along with her family was deeply involved at Bedford Community Church. She cherished Community Bible Study with many women for 21 years. She dedicated her life to Christ and helped so many people walk in their faith.

MaryBeth and Fred moved to Bethel, CT in December 2020, where they spent wonderfully slow days together in retirement. They had a lot of fun with their daughters and son-in-law on their instagram page, @seniorsinsneakers.
