Obituary of Elide Scopino

Elide Amanda Scopino, 84, of Yonkers, NY, passed away on July 23, 2021. Amanda was born in Teodelina, Argentina on June 23, 1937. Amanda was married to Francesco Scopino on December 17, 1958; they were married for 59 years. Among other jobs, Amanda worked as a dietary aide for the Jewish Guild for the Blind. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, being with friends, dancing and playing bingo. Amanda was a beloved mother to her three children Mario(Lucy) Scopino, Teresa (Gaetano) Gigi, and Silvia (Greg) Davis, grandmother to her 8 grandchildren Frankie, Daniella(Johnathon), Andrea, Angel, Francesca, Gianfranco, Jack and Olivia and her great-grandson Chase. She is also survived by her her sister in law and brother in law, along with her cousins and nieces and nephews. Amanda was the glue to her family. She was an amazing, kind hearted, selfless, generous, fun loving, strong, compassionate, energetic, spectacular human being. She was a caretaker at heart, everybody's Nonna. Forever in our hearts.

Friends and family may call the Sinatra Memorial Home (499 Yonkers Avenue) on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM followed by the burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
