Obituary of Jawdeh Ghorayeb

Jawdeh Ghorayeb October 14,1923 September 25, 2021 We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our dear father, Jawdeh Ghorayeb, who departed us on September 25, 2021. Jawdeh began his life in Lebanon where he married his wife, Chaikha Ghorayeb, in 1946. Jawdeh worked as a policeman and on his olive farm to provide for his family. When the war began in 1969 he fled with his wife and 8 children on a journey to America. He risked everything he had for the safety and well being of his family. They settled in Yonkers, where Jawdeh lived for over 50 years. Jawdeh was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was kind, loving and enjoyed making everyone laugh. He is loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Jawdeh Ghorayeb is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Chaikha Ghorayeb, and son, Faisal Ghorayeb. May his love be eternal.
