Helen (Chomko) Perich of Yonkers, NY and Charlestown, RI passed peacefully to the Lord on November 13, 2021. She was at home surrounded by loved ones.
Helen lived the first 87 of her 90 years in Yonkers, NY. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, after which she worked as a keypunch operator and later as a data input operator. She also helped in the office of the family printing business, Little Art Graphics.
Helen met her husband Ted at Saint Mary's Orthodox Church and were subsequently together for 63 years. She became an active member of the Church, singing in the choir, working Bingo and making Russian food dishes for the annual church fairs.
Helen was the last of her family generation having survived the passing of her 5 brothers (John, Nicholas, Shephan, Peter and Michael) and her 3 sisters (Mary, Anna and Irene).
Helen is survived by her caring daughter, Cathy (Swaby) and her husband Keith, grandsons Timothy and Daniel and their spouses Niki and Reyna and great grandchildren Noah and Isaiah. She is also survived by her loving son Andy and his wife Karen and granddaughters Morgan and Audrey and grandson LT Brad Perich USN.
Helen will be joining her beloved husband Ted and son Teddy in the hereafter.
Family and friends were an important part of Helen's life. The family was always together for the holidays, with food, laughs and singing. She remained friends with her "Commerce (HS) Girls" to the end. Her memory will be eternal.
There will be a viewing on Friday, November 19 at 9:30am at St Mary's Orthodox Church, 485 North Broadway, Yonkers. A funeral mass will follow with burial at Oakland Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's honor can be made to St. Mary's Orthodox Church.
