Obituary of Ellen Mary Casagrande

We will always remember that special smile and your caring heart. You were always there for us for which we are grateful. We'll always remember you, Mom, because there will never be another one to replace you. On Sunday, December 5, 2021, Ellen Casagrande, passed away at the age of 102 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ellen was born on April 4, 1919 in Yonkers, NY to Anthony Serricchio and Christina Pasquale, plus she was also the step daughter of Nicholas Capuzzi. She was employed as a beautician until the age of 75. On August 12, 1945, she married Anthony Casagrande. Ellen enjoyed travelling with her family, hair styling, reading, and also loved to cook. She especially enjoyed making pizzelles and manicotti, besides she made the best eggplant parm. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Casagrande, her parents, her sisters Carmela (Millie) Topazio, Jean Rubeo, and brothers Victor and Dante. She is survived by their daughter Kristen, her husband Frederick and granddaughter Christiane of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by a brother, Fred, in Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 12 at Sinatra Memorial Home, 499 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, NY from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 13 at 11:00 AM at St. Casimir's Church in Yonkers, NY. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
