Maria T. Salerno, nee Scannapieco, a lifelong resident of Yonkers died peacefully January 11, 2022. Maria graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers prior to earning her Associates Degree at Elizabeth Seton College, a Bachelor's Degree from Iona College and her Master's Degree from Fordham University. Maria is survived by her two sons Robert (Tatiana)and Mark and her three beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, and Luke. Maria was predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Adeline and Ralph Scannapieco, former owners of Ralph Electric Company in Yonkers. Maria worked as a special education teacher for the Harrison School District, a profession dear to her heart. Prior to teaching she worked for AT&T in New York City. Besides spending time with family and friends, Maria loved to travel with her soul mate and sweetheart John (Jack) Centofanti. She also enjoyed swimming, biking, and dining out in her native Yonkers. Friends may call on Sunday, January 23rd from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM & 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Sinatra Memorial Home 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers NY, 10704. Funeral Mass will be held at St Paul the Apostle Church, McClean Avenue Yonkers on Monday January 24th at 10:00 AM.
