Obituary of James E Drago

James E. Drago (87) passed away on February 13, 2022. Although James E. Drago was his birth name, people in Yonkers and beyond will affectionately remember him as "Uncle Jim".
As a young man, he worked for Otis Elevator and Loral Military Defense Contractor. He later worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC in the Engineering Department. During his long tenure there, he received many accolades, including Mt. Sinai's Employee of the Year. Those who remember Uncle Jim know of his love for the Christmas season, his unparalleled Christmas tree, immaculate red kitchen and his beloved golden retriever, Dusty.
He is survived by his long time friend Alberto "Albert" Cruz, his brother Roy, nephews Roy "Junior", Jack Jr., Daniel, Walter Jr., Thomas and Edward (Drago), Stephen and Scott (Smith). Nieces Rhonda Smith, Teri Drago-Seal, Deborah DeMunbrun, Donna-Lynn Rager-Pugliese, and Lisa Brehaut., Sisters-in-law, Janet Rager, Diane Drago and Mary Comito along with cousins George and Lyndsey Drago. He is additionally survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and extended family across Yonkers, other parts of New York, Texas, Oregon and Florida.
He is predeceased by both of his parents Leroy & Anna Carmen, lifelong friend and family member Clifford Reeves, brothers John "Jack", Walter, William "Billy", Robert "Butch"(Drago), Sisters-in-law Donna Rager-Drago, Evelyn Rager-Smith, Niece Donna McLoughlin and nephew James "Jimmy" Drago. He had deep love for every member of his family and friends.
His vast collection of family photos and slides are a testament to his love, pride and joy for his family, extended family and his friends. He kept in touch with everyone using his signature phrase, "Get down and see me!" His positive outlook on life and positive personal interactions will be missed by all.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Community Home for Funerals, 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10704.
