Obituary of Giovanni Venturini
Please share a memory of Giovanni to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Giovanni was born September 18, 1930, to Domenico and Palmira Venturini. He lived his life in Rome, Italy, as a chef in the Vatican. Giovanni was not only a saint on earth, but he was planning to become a priest. That is until the day he met the love of his life, his loving wife, Ottorina whom he was married to for 62 years.
In 1959 the two made their way to America where they started a family. Giovanni successfully owned an Italian restaurant in Hastings-on-Hudson with his partner Nancy for 26 years where he was also the main chef. He was without a doubt the hardest working man and lived the fullest life filled with the most important riches. There is no doubt that anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him knew how truly special he was.
Giovanni is survived by his wife, Ottorina, his children, Rosa (Peter) and Angelo (Marie), his grandchildren, Anthony, Victoria and Nicola, and his great grandchildren Vincent and Carmella.
A wake will be held at Sinatra Funeral Home on Yonkers Avenue on Monday April 11th from 2:00pm-6:00pm and the service will be held at St. Matthews Church on Tuesday April 12th at 10:00 am.
