Anthony "Tony" Manousos of Yonkers, NY died peacefully at home, after a long illness, at the age of 82 on April 26th, 2022. He is the beloved husband of Orsa Manousos (nee Kontos) and the proud father of Michael (Christina) and Seva Constantine (John). Adored uncle, grandfather of 6 and brother of 5 sisters. Tony was born in Andros, Greece on April 15th, 1940. He immigrated to America in 1956 at age 16 with his father and older sister, where he resided in Yonkers and stayed for the rest of his life. Tony lived the American Dream. Starting as a dishwasher in his uncle's restaurant, he eventually bought that restaurant and began a career in the food industry that spanned more than 60 years. Some of his accomplishments include being the Executive Consultant for the Dutch Pantry restaurant chain, owner of Tony's Luncheonette (Yonkers, NY), A&M Deli (Pleasantville, NY) and eventually Tony's Dog House (Yonkers, NY). The latter of which he was recognized as a multiple time winner of Westchester Magazine's "Best Hot Dog". As a local merchant he was a member of the Kiwanis Club. Tony took great pride in his Greek heritage. He was President of AHEPA, the Andros Society, and of the Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church (Yonkers). Tony's passion was cooking. His favorite thing was to fill the belly of his customers with great food and lots of laughs. Anyone who was lucky enough to eat at the Dog House quickly realized that they were part of a family. Over the years he has served the local community keeping police, firefighters, mayors, judges, and even astronaut's well fed. For those who knew and loved Tony, he will be forever and dearly missed. Services will be held at Sinatra Memorial Home, 499 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY, 10704, on Friday April 29th from 4-8 PM. The mass will be held at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Leroy Ave, Yonkers, NY, 10705, on Saturday, April 30th at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Tony's honor would be welcomed. »(Do not delete this line. It does not print.
