Obituary of Carmen Alvarez

On October 7, 2022, Carmen Belen Alvarez passed away at the age of 72 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Carmen was a devoted wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors. She did this selflessly and without a second thought. Carmen was born in Cabezas, Cuba, the first of four siblings. She then moved to Spain where she made lifelong friends. Carmen finally made her home in Yonkers, NY, where she would stay the rest of her life. She is survived by her husband Bienvenido Ruben Alvarez, her children Ruben Alvarez, Maria Isabel Alvarez, and Karen Alvarez. As well as her grandchildren Marcos Alvarez, Christopher Bekesy, and Charlotte Bekesy. While Carmen's family grieves her loss, her family is choosing to remember Carmen by encouraging donations for Parkinson's Disease Research. They would like to request that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in tribute to Carmen Alvarez.
