Obituary of Thomas Johannan

Thomas C. Johannan, lovingly referred to as Joy, was born on June 25th, 1942 in Ranni, Kerala to the late Mr. C.T. Yohannan and the late Mrs. Aleyamma Yohannan. He was the oldest of 7 children. He completed his High School and moved to Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1962. He married the late Mrs. Annamma Thomas on Dec 23rd, 1976. He worked for the Indian Navy and later for the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, until he moved with his family to the US as an immigrant on July 19, 1990. He worked for the Manhattan branch of the State Bank of India for 22 years, until his retirement in 2012. Mr. Johannan was an active member of the VT Church of God in Mumbai for many years. He joined the Queens Church of God congregation after arriving in the US, where he continued to be a member for 14 years. He then attended the First Church of God in Elmont, NY until he moved to Rockland County, NY in 2012. He was a member of Ebenezer Full Gospel Assembly in Blauvelt, NY, until he went to be with the Lord. During his 32 years of marriage with Annamma Thomas, God blessed him with two children, Nancy (married to Sherin) and Noel (married to Mia) and two grandchildren, Sofia and Silas. Mr. Johannan served as an example through his compassion and humility and his single minded dedication to the Lord throughout his entire life on this earth. We rejoice that he has found eternal peace and delight in the arms of his Lord.
