Please share a memory of Katherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Katherine Kelly Collins (Kitty) Kitty Collins, lifelong resident of Mount Kisco, passed away on January 2, 2023 at the age of 96. Oldest of seven, Kitty was born in November, 1926, to Katherine and James Kelly of Mount Kisco. She was married for 56 years to her dear husband, Jim, who passed away in June 2002. She is survived by her beloved children: Jack, Eddie (Tracy), Mike (Michele), Joanne (Ed), Jimmy (Mindy), Kevin, Patti, and Peggy; her grandchildren who brought her much joy: Amy (Joe), Eric (Michelle), Courtney (Jason), Sean, Brendan (Tori), Janna, Matt (Abby), Megan (Alex), Lucinda, James (Caroline), Katie (Joe), and Mary (Art); and great-grandchildren: Aidan, Anna, Winslow, Alana, Zachary, Riley, and Bentley. Two granddaughters, Melissa and Emily, predeceased her. Kitty is also survived by her sister, Fran, and brother, Bill, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen, and brothers Jack, Bobby, and Buddy. She attended St. Francis of Assisi School, St. Mary's High School, and worshipped at St Francis Church her entire life. In 1997, she retired from the Chappaqua School District after working 31 years at Robert E. Bell Middle School in Chappaqua, a time in her life she really enjoyed. Kitty loved the beach. The family discovered the Jersey Shore in 1968 and spent countless vacations in Wildwood Crest and more recently Long Beach Island. She loved to travel and took many memorable trips to Europe with her husband. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun casinos. She did not have to be asked twice to go on these trips. Whether as daughter, sibling, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, or friend, her life was spent caring for and loving others and never drawing attention to herself-or as she would say-never making a fuss. The family is forever grateful for Norma and Joyce who selflessly provided exceptional care for Kitty in her last years.
