Obituary of Augustine J. Nigro

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Augustine J. Nigro. He was born on August 18th, 1931, to James and Josephine (Bubbico) in the City of Yonkers where he lived his entire life. Augie served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. On November 14th, 1954, Augie married Virginia Santoro and together, raised 4 children. He worked at Ford and Lincoln dealerships in his early years finishing his working life with the City of Yonkers in both the Police and Fire Department repair shops. Augie's favorite passion was fishing on the Lavalette, N.J. shoreline back when there was an abundant supply of common pufferfish and Stripers in those waters. He delighted in sending his family on vacation down the shore every year many times for the entire summer. Augie was predeceased by his wife Virginia (Santoro). He is survived by his four children, James (Mary), Augustine (Tracy), Joanne Hollis (Tom) and Christopher (Nidia). Father-in-law to Jane Nigro and brother to Vincent. Loving Grandfather to eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
